Today I would like to introduce to you one of the Pakistani breads that my children love especially during Ramadan: the cheese naan, soft and light. I tried several recipes and I think this one is the best I could taste. This bread is traditionally baked in a tandoor but I did it with a regular non-stick skillet.
For about 10 naans:
600g of flour
1 bag of baking powder
1 yogurt and 3 to 4 tbs of sour cream
2 to 3 tbs of olive oil
Salt
Mix all the ingredients and add a little warm water to obtain a soft dough. Let it rest for about half an hour or more. Make about 10 rolls.
On a floured surface, spread one roll, put spreading cheese (usually Vache qui rit) inside and close. Spread again and cook on a lightly greased hot skillet. The naans will slightly rise and that is the best.
Bon appétit.
